Camp carry on.

Was I the only one surprised to find that two of the three Camp Councillors avoided taking on any camp portfolios, allowing the majority instead to go to a newbie Stanley Councillor? Whilst I am sure the portfolios in question will benefit from Mr Ross's not inconsiderable skills it seems strange that two of the people who apparently believe most strongly in the two constituency system have given an excellent example of why a single constituency would appear to be perfectly acceptable.
The more cynical amongst us may wonder if they have encouraged the new Councillor to take on the poisoned chalice(s) of FIMCO, FLH and Agriculture, allowing them to crow from the sidelines over the many more difficult and unpopular decisions that will have to be made over the coming four years.

It would almost appear as if Camp have only elected one Camp Councillor who is prepared to represent them.  It is a shame he is only going to be here for six months of the year but at least Old Mr Bill has taken on camp issues and in fact is a portfolio holder as either deputy or main for all the portfolios, barring transport, which have a major impact on Camp.
